Common questions
Why does polycarbonate need expansion gaps?
Polycarbonate expands much more than glass and aluminium when heated, about 6 to 7 parts per 100,000 per degree Celsius according to its technical data. Without expansion gaps, sheets can bow or crack at screw holes.
Which side faces the sun?
The UV-protected side must face outwards. SKYWALL Solid sheets are UV-protected on both faces, but always follow the marking on the protective film and the official installation guide.
What is the difference between solid and multiwall?
Solid is a single clear layer with high impact strength. Multiwall has air chambers inside, so it is lighter per area and insulates better, but it is not as clear as solid.
